I have tried to push my tbird up past 1.4 but itgetsvery unstable. I have tried raising the voltage.... but just as bad. It is very stableat default though. My mobo is abit kt7a-raid. The cpu came factory unlocked to. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

We will need more info to help you. What HSF are you using and what temps are you getting??? Please post temps in C, not F

well it could be many things (psu, ram, cooling etc) make sure that the heatsink is mounted correctly that could cause it to become unstable (heat)

With the info you've given I'd be inclined to think the culprit may be the generic ram. Hard to say though as you don't mention what ya have or haven't tried or what all that 300w psu is feeding.

well it should be ok with the 300w antec, thats what i had, and i was stable at 1596.. so its most likly the ram, or he doesnt have somethign setup in his bios right

Ok, I have an abit kt7a-raid. I do not know the stepping right off the top of my head... but will get it. The psu is feeding :dvd, cd/rw, 4 case fans, 3 usb devices, sound card, nic, r8500, HD, 1.4 floppy. I think thats it... let me know if you need more.
