hi all

ive just built my 1st WC'd rig - cpu and gpu full cover block

are these temps ok? i was expecting less!!!!

cpu idle temp - 33c on all 4 cores / prime 95 100% stress temps - 38c

gpu idle temps (gtx285 oc'd from 648mhz to 700mhz) 30c / load temps 41c all these temps with fans on low - on high it drops about 5c

i was hoping my cpu to idle at under 30!

all help appreciated!

thanks

Those temps look good if you are in the northern hemisphere. :) My C2D idles in the low 30's in summer too (76-80F ambient), but it drops into the 20's when the ambient temps drop to 68F.

Idle temps are pretty much meaningless anyway. With load temps under 40C on a quad core, you should be very, very happy. What quad is it and what type of overclock are you running? Oh, and what are your ambient temps?

It's summer here in the Northern hemisphere.

For comparison:

Core I7 920 @ 4.0 GHz, vcore = 1.32V.

Idle (browsing this site) ambient = 32C, water = 35C, cores = 40C to 44C.

Load (OCCT cpu:linpack max!) ambient = 32C, water = 38C, cores = 63C to 68C.

Yup, it's warm here today, but it's a cool day by comparison to earlier in the week when ambient was 40C.

Oops, ambient is now up to 33C and climbing.
