I agree... I couldn't stand driving up to a checkpoint without doing any thing hostile and then they just open fire on me..... I lasted 30 minutes before I dropped it.

It came bundled with my video card.... so no loss for me :)

Take the bus next time :p
The game doesn't get any better from the start, it gets repetitive.

I would hate to see you guys play a game that is well and truly bad. Far Cry 2 is worth the play through, but not worth the 50/60 dollars it was at launch.

Far Cry 2 is a very polarizing game, most people either love it or hate it. I liked it quite a bit. It can be a bit repetitive, but only if you let it be, you can do the missions however you want to. If you change it up, it remains a lot of fun.

Yeah, it's too bad really. The first one grabbed ahold and never let go until I was done. I played that game for days straight.
This one I just gave up on. Mainly because of GFX issues, but also because I didn't find it worth it to resolve those issues.

i had everything maxed out and it played very well and smooth didnt have a single problem in the graphics area

Far Cry 2 is a very good game if you consider the graphics and texture that the game has but you would think that the people who spent so long on coding it nicely could have put a fun story line in.

Multiplayer i find is like CoD4 but worse graphics and fun :(

I played until about 70% completion. It is fun but at that point I got tired of the distance in between everything. I like exploring but i should be able to jump to location that you have already been to. It sucks to travel all the way across the map only to find out that your next mission is right back were you started. I know there are buses and I used them when ever possible.

The story was not progressing fast enough and the side quest really don't make any difference to the game. Once you get most of the weapons there is no point to earning more money. I will probably go back at some point and finish it. I completed all of the side quest on the first map, but gave up on the second. They just don't matter after a while.

If they made a patch that fixed the stupid checkpoints respawn time (30 sec :bang head) I think it would make the game a whole lot more fun.

Farcry like crysis wasn't about gameplay...

Set the physics and fire effects up to max
Grab a few Molotovs and throw them at the dry bushes
WATCH IT BUUUUUUURN!

Well it's not a game like crash and slash. It's some tactics requiering game. You need to do things slower, think more than in like serious sam... Anyways, it's a very nice game. But yea, that respawn time could be longer... Like save game after loading or saving they'r reespawning.

newn, I have to disagree that you have to think through thing. Just about everything you do can be done with what ever setup you currently have; provided you have enough ammo. Even though the AI is ok in the game it can be very predictable. I cant think of one time were it surprised me. Well other then the game spawning an enemy in a stupid place. Like right behind me.

However if you really want to think things through you can complete any mission better then if you were to simply run in guns blazing. But a good strategy is not necessary to completing a mission. Most of it for me consists of simply killing off as many enemy from a long distance away. Then going in and finishing off the remaining guys. I guess that is one of the big problems with such an open world. You are not forced into figuring out the best way to attack a situation, because really anything will accomplish the task.

But I guess it all comes down to personal preference. I get bored with coming up with new ways to make the same mission challenging. I don't get a sense of accomplishment from doing something the hard way, when doing it the easy way would have accomplished the task.

this game is amazing, you just have to play it in like 10 to 15 minute increments every once in a while so the repetition doesnt get to you
