Ghost in the Router

Just lost 12hrs of production due to a grimlin in my router. All three machines finished work around 4 to 5 am and no internet available. Troubleshot all day including seating and reseating connectors, ping checks, etc. Finally called a friend on the complex and verified that the prob was me. It was. Then I removed the cable from the wall to the router and took it to this friends house to test it on his sys. It worked fine. Came back home, Turned everything off and completely disconnected the router. Reconnected and started all and the ghost disappeared. Back up now and don't have a clue what the real fix was. Fellas is this addictive or what. I was about to sell my oldlady to get things going again. Ya'll gotta promise not to tell her.:D Fold on brothers.:beer:

Oh boy, are you guys gonna gang up on me now ;) To be honest, I'm trying to get to the point where I can challenge Norgs :eek: I have access to hundreds of computers here at work, but half them are ancient machines that won't fold in the time limit, the other half are being used to crunch numbers for theoretical calculations. The best ones, of course, belong to the faculty who just browse the web all day, but try to convince them to run F@H on their puters. They don't believe me when I tell them that they won't be slowed down :mad:

Of course, then there is the computer lab which has about 100 computers sitting doing nothing. But alas, I'm not the network admin there :(

In short, if you don't want me to pass you guys, add more computers. That way our team will benefit too. If that doesn't work, there is always blackmail :D
