Hey i was thinkin of usin a 5 gallon bucket for my new WCsys. Is this too big? I also am going to use a 12"x5"x3" copper tubed rad. Is this too big? My pump is 350gph. Another question. Does the water go thru the waterblock first or the rad first after it leaves the pump? I always thought it was the rad first but some pple have told me differently. The rad is to cool off the water so wouldn't it go before the waterblock?.....or would the hot water be cooled off using the cold rad? I think now that i look at it that the latter is correct. Please surrender your input. Also, is it bad to have the water res far away from the comp? Will it make a difference in temps if the hosing is 1' v.s. 10'? Thanks a lot!!!

i sugest pump>rad>block>rez

and the rez is way to big! mine holds like 12 oz and thats it.... and some people dont eaven use a rez..they just bleed out all the air......

is the rad a heatercore or what is it,? does it have tubing thru it?
or is it like little slits that the water goes thru?
about the 1' and 10' i dont know...i dont have mine set up..

The resevoir is big, but there isn't such a thing as too big. A bigger resevoir will heat up slower, and so your temps will be more stable. My res. in-construction is about 3 gallons, I think, and is bolted to the right side of my case :D All depends on how much space you have and are willing to take up. If I had a big case I would probably do in-line and keep everything internal, but I have a mini-tower, so I'm building out. :p

yea i see what you mean...what i want to do that would be soooo cool!is make a rezivore thats like 10feet long so its like a river! so the water goes into a pool at the top and goes down it around rocks and maby a waterfall!!! the collects at the bottom!.....
then sucked back by the pump what do you think?

Or you can do what my bud phiber did and use a fishtank and forgo the radiator. A 10 gallon fishie tank is big enough to radiate all the heat your cpu can generate. If your going with a radiator don't bother with a large reservoir or go without a res. On some of my water cooled setups I use a 4x4x4 plastic box or a 4x4x2 box. You can get one at The Home Depot for about $7.

thanks for the help. My rad is some type of car rad with copper tubing going thru it with lots of aluminum fins on it. It is like 20 feet of tubing within the rad if u stretch it all out. I have a 300cfm fan on it in the other room with a 5 gallon bucket. I gonna fill it with 3 gallons of my special liquid. (15%antifreeze, 85% distilled water, and a 12oz bottle of water wetter.) I was thinking of making the solution in the 5 gallon bucket and then running the whole system with tthe comp turned off for a day or so to see for leaks. Then i would .....while the system is running, connecting the hose thats going directly into the bucket onto the nozzel of the intake on the pump. This way i will have a completely water tight system. Then i coould leave the system in the bucket and change the water once or twice a wwek just by disconnecting the hose for a while and then reconnecting it. What do ya think? By the way.......does it matter whether the rad comes before or after the waterblock? :D
