View Full Version : Are these temps good?
Cpu idle temp: 19 C
Cpu Load temp: 22C (Quake 3 and Tribes 2)
System Idel temp:17C
System load temp 19C
I did a mod to my case to channel cold air from my window to my case.
This is for a Slot A Athlon ( you know the ones whose PCB generates extra heat bewteen the heatplate and heatsink because of the 512k mem chips.)
550@ 605 110x5.5 At atock voltage.
Radeon 7200 64mb
US robotics 56k
Some Nic
Sound Blaster
20 7200rpm Western Digital ata 66
4gig Seagate
Delta 12x DVD (40x CD)
Liteon 32x CDrom
These tempz are excellent;)
But what ya gonna do when winter ends?
Get an AC :D, the only problem I had was that I had to use a fan at the end of the hose ( its a hose that came off the back of a cloths dryer for blowing the heat to an outside vent..(no I didnt swipe it from the one in the house). Anyway I had to use a fan at the end of the hose to collect the air a push it into the hose so that the fan thats at the other end of the hose, which is mounted to the back outside of the case, and pull it into the case. Hmm...maybe i should throw my 1.2gig setup in this case. But its an old modded AT full tower case...modded to it ATX board...hmmm I got my next project!
I will post some pics.
The hose...big enough?
*note the pics were recompressed and resized for 56kers, dont worry I feel your pain* 26k and below*
Where its mounted, just below the power supply.
I used a regular wash rag cut in half, rolled up, and wraped around the fan, and then compressed with that bracket to make a good seal.
The other end, it just sitz in my window. Sorry about the quality, I had to use my webcam.
The mini AT 145watt power supply for all fans iside the case plus the 2 for the hose...
nice setup.. im also guessin u have a dust cover on both or at least one end right?
A wire mesh yes. Im going to see if I can find a thin filter...

Ok I got a question, if you leave that hose outside the window long enough can't moister get up in it and damage your cpu?
No need worry because something has to be colder than the air around to it cause condensation, plus since the hose is angeled down ward I belive moisture will have a time getting up it...
