I don't know when, but later on, I'll be getting another Tualatin Celeron chip. So far, the 1.2 seems to OC the best. This is the one I plan to get again unless others will dethrone it. Anyways, it doesn't look like my OEM Philly chip will do 1.6 (optimistically burning in still) so this somewhat leaves me with a bad taste. A 1.5 OC is rather crappy I think.

Anyways, reading all those threads here with members with the Malay retail chip and in the cpu database, it "seems" like these retail suckers have better luck getting to 1.6 than the Phillys do. Or, it could just be me and that most people seem to buy the retail version anyways.

Although this requires pure luck, I want to make sure my next 1.2 Celly will be better than my current one. I dearly hope it won't do worse (Pinky's Celly in particular scares the heck outta me).

So, what do you guys think will maximize my chances best at getting a "good" chip (besides luck)? Should I look for SL5X5 (my current chip) or the SL5Y5?

- what kind of case cooling? how many fans?
- can u get upto 1.825V w/ your mobo?

Currently,

1 120mm Delta 2100RPM 71CFM blowing over CPU fan.

Will increase the fans once I get a new full tower case. Maybe temps will drop then. I've also got a 80mm 53CFM Sanyo Denki but my PS is too weak to run 2 fansssss for some reason.

What baffles me is that my room is at or below room temps always, yet I can't seem to get my case temps around the low 20's. Usually in the mid to high 20's.

MY ST6 is vmodded, voltage goes up to 1.8. That's it. I've heard that others with the ST6 have gotten up to 1.825v but perhaps they covered different pins.

Well, u better add case cooling if u're maybe getting new chip anyway... I drilled 2 holes on top of my case and put there 2 9.2x9.2 out blowing fans :) And I also have 1 x 9.2x9.2 & 1 8x8 blowing in front of my case. + 1x8x8 blowing near cpufan with duct. (duct intake fan is in the place of the former PSU&fan)

If your psu is running out of power... one neat trick might be to take your PSU out of your case to increase airflow... get the cables out from back of your case from the extra holes in there. (picture my PSU cables coming out of case). Just remember to ground your PSU to case with wire if u take it out.

"Case temperatures: +22*C down, +24 - +27 *C up
Room-temperature: +20-23 *C up, down +18 - +20 *C
Case-cooling: rear down 1x8, 1x9.2 in, back down 1x6 out, back up 1x8 in (w/ airduct to near cpu-cooler intake, I don't know if it actually helps or makes cooling worse by taking airspace), case top 2x 9.2 out, rear up 2x4 out
Cpu-cooler: copper, GlobalWin CAK-II 38 (w/ some Titan silver stuff and leftovers of Arctic silver) "

HMM doesn't that sound like that your PSU is running out of current...? Maybe it's that's why u aren't getting a stable 1.6Ghz.

Plz some1 count how much power would celeron need, 1600Mhz, 1.8V

Philli 1.2GHz chip with a "B" in the FPO batch code!
