I have a Lenovo IdeaPad Y710. Great lappy.

It comes with Vista Home Premium or something. When I upgraded the laptop to Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, I encountered a lot of problems.

1) DVD drive not recognised by windows
2) Windows not detecting any microphone sounds

It's very odd. Can anyone help?

Have you installed all of the drivers for your laptop in windows 7?

That would be my first guess.

i don't believe lenovo has any win7 drivers on their site but vista drivers work for the most part. The dvd drive shouldn't need any extra drivers tho, so that is pretty odd...possibly look for a firmware update?

I don't even know what brand the drive is. It doesn't recognise on Windows 7. I think I have to use the recovery disk and use crappy Vista with bloatware..
