Hey! My computer WORKS FINE AT 2.667 Mhz after 24 Hours of "streessed life"... with 41š Celsius at processor "surface" and 31š Celsius in the motherboard sensor.

We works into a small computer-shop in Spain, and we receive the first Asus P4B266 motherboard and the first PIV Northwood at 2.000 Mhz...

note1: we usually install AMD K7 and DDR memory... we donīt like Intel, but... we receive and "speciall" requirement of a good client.

We mount the computer, with an standard fan-heatsink (and with normal termal-grease) and we use a "mid-range" configuration for this good friend:

- Intel PIV "Northwood" OEM (no boxed) at 2.000 Mhz, 1,5V , x20 multiplier, x100 FSB
- Standard cooling heatsink-fan for PIV, using standard "white" termal grease for semiconductor (nothing of artic-silver or similar).
- Asus P4B266 Motherboard, with Intel 845D chipset
- Nvidia Riva TNT2-M64 32 Mb AGPx4
- 256 Mb 1 Module 256 Mb of DDR memory at 266 Mhz, NEC.
- Seagate 40 Gb Barracuda 7.200 rpm IDE UMDA100
- LG x52 CD-ROM
- Standard case, with a 300W power supply
- Sound Blaster Audigy
- Ovislink WinModem.

The first "Northwood" system... we surpouse problems... Power up the computer ... and automatically detect x20 multiplier and x100 Mhz FSB. We install Windows XP Home Edition... and works fine. x20, x100 FSB, 1,5V Vcore, 33š Celsius at Processor and 23šC Motherboard temperature.

... but, the first system, why donīt try to overclock it? ... we put the MANUAL SWITCH MODE, select de x133 FSB and... power up the computer. The results? Computer power up without problems, and Windows XP start working "normally"...
WE DONīT BELIEVE IT.

We install some "stress" software, 3DMark, SisoftSandra, PiFactorial Prime, 3DMax Rendering... and start working HARD...

And we stay here, WORKING FINE AFTER 19 Hours of "stressed live" with a PIV 2.667 MHZ running well at 42šC without problems (33šC at motherboard) in a "comercial computer", a non-protype or experimental computer, with a +600 Mhz overclocked processor running fine.

WE ARE IMPRESSED... THATS INCREDIBLE... and we surpouse thatīs we have an PIV 2.000 Mhz "FROM ANOTHER WORLD"... or, All the Northwoods works like this? If thatīs true, we will buy all the Intel production

Thanks to all, we are going to install your recommended "Prime95" and other software, and start working with it in that system. We hope to obtain more than "72 hours stability", and offer more detailed information.

note2: Actual Vcore: 1,64 - 1,68 VCore and +0,1V DDR Memory

The Northwood and the Tualatin are 0.13 micron processors. The 0.13 micron processors of Intel have been lately overclocking VERY WELL.

As you see alot of overclockers here are getting their P3-S chips to 170fsb and their Tualatin 1.0a to 150 fsb and their 1.2 Tualatin @ 1.5-1.7

The Northwood is a VERY GOOD Clocker.

The 1.6 averages 2.4 or so.
1.8 ges 2.6 w/ air.
The 2.0 gets to 2.5 or 2.6 <- Some say its binned not too sure about that.
2.2 got to 3.0 on average.

But the crazy people got the chips up to 3.7gig from 2.2 with LN2 cooling.

If your going to put Intel in stock. I'd go for it. It'd have a big investment plan for your store.
