Im currently in the process of building my first ever water loop... i have it hooked up to a dead mobo for leak testing before moving it too my i7 rig...

Im trying to jump start the PSU using a paper clip and connecting the green wire with a black wire, but when i do it starts... then beeps twice and switches off... should i have something else connected so the PSU stays running? Its the PSU in my sig btw.... thanks!!

:D

If there is no load on the PSU it will shut down. You should at least attach a fan to give it a load. If you are testing a water loop the pump should be attached before starting the PSU.
I don't understand why you have a dead motherboard attached. All you need to do is to assemble the loop outside the case and power up the pump for leak testing.

I wanted to build the loop inside the case so i could cut my tubing to required length... and yes the pump was already hooked up to the psu before i tried to jump it....
I did some googling and it turns out its the Enermax circuit protection cutting in and switching the psu off... i just used my other coolermaster 850w which i had handy...
