So I finally decided to upgrade my ATI2600 hand me downs and get some new ATI4890 form Newegg. After I installed them I quickly noticed they run to hot to operate in my system. So I decided to install some water blocks and integrate them in to my water cooling system. Got 2 EK-fc4890- Nickle blocks and it all went wrong from there. I had forgotten one of the fundamental rules to water cooling....RESEARCH FIRST! :bang head

So as it turns out NewEgg had sent me XFX HD-489A-ZDFC. Its what I ordered but I didn't realize at the time that there where reference design and non-reference designs. There is a huge difference when it comes down to water cooling. So I'm sending them back and keeping my EK blocks.

My next problem is that I have no clue what card to get to assure I get a reference design card. I have searched for 3 days and I'm still very confused on what brands carry the reference design cards. Anyone with any suggestions or might have gone threw this please help. I am looking at the lineup from newegg and I'm just stumped.:screwy:

After reading my post I just realized this actually would be more appropriate for the ATi section and not Water cooling. My apologies.

I searched newegg for that part number and it is reference design. Is that the actual cards they sent you or is it different from the pictures ?
