I got my new sound card about a week ago. It is the sound blaster xfi titanium champion series. Link here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102021&cm_re=sound_blaster-_-29-102-021-_-Product

Heres how I installed i just followed the instructions and turned my computer off and pulled out the old card and put the new one in like it said. Was I supposed to delete the old sound card out of my device manager before doing any of this cuz i think thats what may be causing all my problems with it. Then i powered on my computer and installed the software that was on the CD, then i went on the website and got the latest drivers.

I had my speakers hooked up with an optical audio cable. But there wasnt any sound coming out of my speakers but when i plugged my head set in(headphone jacks non USB) i had sound. I unplugged the optical cable and replaced it with analog and then i had sound coming through my speakers. Might think now problem solved, wrong.

Im not able to get into any of the programs such as Creative audio console. When i try i get an error message that says "The audio device supported by this application is not detected, the application will exit".

Lastly my final and to me the biggest problem. It didnt start happening till like 3-4 days after having the card. Im doing something on my pc, ex playing wow or listening to music. Something with sound. It all of a sudden gets really staticky. Sometimes its brief and goes away after a short time but mostly it doesnt go away for a while or to the point of me having to reboot.

I posted a thread last week similair to this one but didnt get any replies, I made this one more in depth. Please help, i will highly appreciate any feedback.

I'm too tired (sorry) to go into depth- but essentially, you still have your old driver for your old audio card/onboard audio. You never uninstalled it.

You may be having a driver or hardware conflict causing the popping.

Creative drivers are kind of finicky by their very nature.

Basically, uninstall, in control panel, all your sound cards, go into device manager make sure there's nothing there. Go into your bios, and disable your motherboard's onboard sound. Then JUST install the soundcard software from the website. Don't use the CD.

Ok I did everything you told me. But under device manager i have one called ATI function driver for high definition audio, i didnt touch that one just wanted to tell you. Also in my bios under onboard devices the only audio one was HD audio device so i unsurly disabled it. Anyway I followed your steps and went to the website and started downloading the new driver. While it was driving I was in my kitchen when i heard a really odd noise. It was coming from my speakers. Its kind of like the sound you hear when you turn on a telephone when your not dialing or calling anyone. But it was pretty loud and annoying. I figured it just needed to reboot after the driver installed and it was fine. I rebooted and the same annoying sound was coming from my speakers. I hooked my speakers to my computer with my optical cable but then no sound came out of them. I plug my headset in(non usb headset) and i dont get the annoying sound i get normal sound.
