No chance.

You *may* be able to get away with it on low, but that thing is not at all supposed to play any games outside of web based.

hmmm.. guess the claims about

"This pairing can provide up to 10x faster video encoding performance and fps in games than the CPU alone"

are exaggerated

any idea wot the "Nvidia ION Graphics Processor" is equivlant to ie 256mb graphic card?

Well, 10x 2fps is 20fps...but who knows how they tested it (i.e what game, settings).

I think its about as good as any onboard graphics, which generally isnt good. Maybe someone with a little more info will chime in and help you out.

Well thats some what true, since the CPU alone cant do **** for games.

May I suggest you just build a cheapish small form factor PC. It would only cost a bit more and will get you much better specs.

ty for your help, maybe it was to good to be trueIm sure their claims are correct, but you just have to find out how they got those numbers. I highly doubt it will be able to play that game though.

You got suckered by their marketing team... ;)

I can run 10x faster than a human (I didnt tell you it was a toddler).

You should even be able to look at the specs you listed and see it doesnt match. But we are always here to help. :)

You can see in the link you provided that it is using a 9400m card in that laptop. That, while not a good card, is still likely better than onboard. That is an apples to apples comparison unless your ION has that same card in it, which I dont not know.

ION is 9400.

A 9400 beats the hell out of GMA950, and is world faster then an atom trying to render alone.

However, an atom is slower then a P4 3ghz (it's more like a 2.2 northwood), so you're out of luck there.

Even the dual core one like he listed?

Ratbuddy is right, its a dual core and handles itself decently. This nettop won't impress but it will at least be able to play it

It should be able to eek out 25-30 frames in AoC at minimum settings, 800x600. Not very impressive but it'll certainly work.

Thanks for all your help,
I am just gonna take a punt on it (try my luck), its is going for a reasonable price - and if the worse comes to the worse I can just put a internal blue ray drive in it and use it as media center. ill let u know how it works out.

If any1 got any test they want to run on it give me a shout

Hey, I have been thinking about buying the Acer Revo, which has the same specs...Atom 330 + Ion, 2Gb Ram, etc.
I want to use it as a Torrent server + HTPC for 1080p mkvs.

Do you think you could try to see if you can do both at the same time on your system?

Also, the ASRock says you can overclock it. Does anybody know if you could overclock the Revo? (it is plastic though ;) )
