I've been running my QX9770 at 3.8Ghz for a while now under my WinXP (32bit) boot (dual boot), never had any issues, Prime95 runs for hours, all my benchmark tools run for hours, all good.
So I'm testing out Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit) and run the "Performance Index" to get a rating and my system crashes (reboots) in the middle of the CPU performance test ... always at the same CPU test. RAM test, Video test are all good.
They ONLY way I can get Windows 7 Ultimate to complete the Performance Index successfully is if I run ZERO, nada, zip overclocking @ 3.2 Ghz. I've tried adjusting
CPU Voltage
CPU PLL Voltage
FSB Termination Voltage
DRAM Voltage
NB Voltage
Ratio I'm using is 9.5 x 400 with DDR3-1600Mhz 1N 7-7-7-20-5-08-12-6 -- pretty sure it's nothing to do with DRAM as the test always fails on CPU. Don't think it's power supply issue either as I have a PC Power and Cooling 1000 Watt unit.
I'm running 803 BIOS in my Asus P5E3 Premium.
Any suggestions?
Rob.
