Question about installing ATAPI Zip drive

This question may sound pretty ignorant. How would I install a Zip drive, a DVD/CR-ROM, and a HDD with the motherboard having only two IDE headers? If I can hook two or more devices up to one IDE, which combination should I use? How many devices can you hook up to one IDE header?

Each IDE channel can have 2 devices on it. 1 Master & 1 Slave.

You should check your devices & find out what mode they use to communicate (PIO1,2,3,4, DMA33, DMA66, etc). If you put a device that operates at PIO4 on the same IDE channel as 1 that operates at DMA66, then the DMA66 device will automatically slow down to the PIO4 mode.

personally i would read the manuals but if i had to guess about what you have i would put the cd and zip on ide 2 and the hdd on ide 1

Just make sure that your Master/Slave jumpers are correctly configured, and you shouldn't have a problem.
