View Full Version : Which Ram Will Be Best?
I'm about to upgrade and don't know what the best choice of ram will be. Should I stick with 1333 or go to 1600 as I want to overclock to at least 4.2 Ghz?

Get a set of 1600,
It will give you more room to overclock now and in the future!
IMO Though

This is a little pricey, but it is a killer:

If you plan on running 210+ bclk, either get some GOOD 1600mhz ram or pickup some 1866mhz ram as the ram dividers suck. You will have 6 and 8 for dividers, so if you run 210 bclk, its 1680mhz ram speed, and it keeps increasing from there. I wish I would have purchased higher speed ram in retrospect as my OCZ gold can handle up to about 205-207 bclk, but no higher without changing the divider to 6.
On second look, the good Redline 1866 they used to have isnt listed on newegg anymore :( Check out this stuff if you have the cash: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231258 otherwise look into this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231254

How much you want to spend would be very helpful.
Thanks for the help guys. Things have changed though. The owner of the computer store talked me in to going with i5 instead. I have bought a GA-P55-UD4 board and Corsair 16000 dual channel.
