Bit overkill probably. Lacks features you would want for an HTPC (better audio, possibly a good IGP), it is full size ATX, and I do not know about the power requirements of that chipset, but intel is usually pretty heavy handed on the wattage of their mobos.

No, it has a fan you can mount on the NB sink. BTW, this is one powerfull X48 board and the price is absurdly cheap.

just pulled the trigget at $81.18 after taxes and free shipping. is this a good deal compared to the Gigabyte EP45-UD3L or UD3R that i was thinking of ordering? this BlackOps gots way more accessories than the Gigabyte boards. i'm hoping this is money well spent and won't regret buying this over the UD3L/UD3R.

This would be awesome w/ any C2D...especially if you like to bench. For C2Qs a good P45 would get you higher OCs.
The amount of metal that comes w/ this board is probably worth more than $75.

Be prepared...it comes in a huge box, includes the option to convert the NB from water to air or DICE (has a plastic "pot").
Also comes with standoffs and a "benching table". Not fancy, but functional.
That really is a great price, however, Foxconn support has been kinda weak lately. Unless something has changed recently, it has been a while since this board had any kind of BIOS update. :(

nope no promo code needed for the $75. but i guess that was probably 1 day only deal. good thing i jumped on the deal right a way without doing any research. if i had gone and read reviews and all that stuff, i probably would have missed on the deal by the time i would be ready to order.
from the reviews, this thing :attn::attn:
