I'm putting together a new build and I need advice on which ram to get, as my first choice ended up being oos. I'm on roughly a 100 dollar + shipping budget. I need 2 x 2 GB ddr3 sticks for an AMD build on a gigabyte motherboard to be paired with a 550 BE and I prefer the best timings I can get without rediculous voltages. I'm fine with pc3 1333 if the timings are nice. Also ok with sites other than Newegg since I have to pay 9% sales tax when I buy there :bang head but I'm fine with using them anyway if the price is ok.

Well, I've enjoyed my corsair kit despite not liking the high CAS ratings. Right now I have it running close to 1700mhz and I've read that some people run it at 2000 without any problems. It is this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145200&cm_re=corsair_xms3_4gb-_-20-145-200-_-Product

The timings aren't good but it seems to run pretty well. I tried adjusting the timings down but would get memory errors all over the place. Once I set them back to suggested I have been not had errors. Its difficult to compare ram because of the chipsets and benchmarks, cpu speeds, all of those variables.

If you want a really low CAS kit, Mushkin has a 7-7-7-20 kit that looks pretty good.

If you dont' want sales tax you can use Pricewatch to find the product you want, then pick the supplier.
