3d Phophet 4500 / Win XP problems

Anybody having problems with a 3d Prophet 4500 Kyro II video card?

I'm running mine under Windows XP and although it work fine on OpenGl it constantly locks up and hangs when using Direct3D.

Any suggestions?

I have the opposite problem in Counterstirke. I won't run OpenGL but will run D3D fine. I got it to run OpenGL on the reference drivers, but image quality was crap.

Do you get 60Hz refreshes in games? If you can get it higher let me know.

All I can suggest is to get the newest drivers from Guillemot.

That was my next strategy. They have just released (18th Jan I think) a new set of Win XP driver but I haven't had a chance to try them. Not sure I'll place any bets on it working :)

It's gonna be a few days before I can try it as I'm working some crazy hours.

I'll try and check my refresh rates etc but again it may be a couple of days before I can have a proper look and post a reply.
