Well well here are the 27.20 Detonator betas :)

Again, I'm afraid they are for Windows 2000 and Windows XP only. These are 27.20 nVidia Reference detonator drivers dated 15th of January 2002. So far there's no word on performance.

Consider them unofficial and beta and thus install @ your own risk!

Get 'em here (http://www.3dchipset.com/drivers/beta/nvidia/2720/win-xp-2k.shtml) or here (http://www.warp2search.net/article.php?sid=2566&mode=thread&order=0)

Doh! Sorry 'bout that :)

Try here (http://www.uni-magdeburg.de/tuemler/temp/W2k-XP-2720.zip). Seems faster.

Well here's a surprise. These should be the 9x/ME version here (http://www.redlinecomputers.net/files/Drivers/Nvidia/Win9x/Win9x-ME-27.20.zip)

Question upon destroying previous nVidia drivers.

Once I uninstall my drivers from Add/Remove menu and then open Denator Destroyers and then kill my drivers, I reboot and by the time I can do anything Win XP reinstalls the GeForce 2 MX200 w/ old Denator 3 by Microsoft is there anyway to prevent this? I've tried going in safe mode still does the same....

For some reason I lost 500 score! Although my performance looked better and seemed to preform a little better except for some high quality ones.

Any other reports on performance, loss or gain?? Seems to me most people are reporting a loss on the 27.xx series versus the 23.xx and 22.xx.

A similar problem with onboard graphics got in the way of me once. Installed a new video board, installed the software, and then it overwrote the crucial files at next boot, with the old on-board .dll files. I solved this problem in a brutal and destructive manner. WARNING: In Win98, may not work with WinXP, and method may need to vary. Sheesh, why am I even bothering?

I traced the driver files through control panel-> system ->videocard-> file locations, and deleted them with extreme prejudice after uninstalling the video card.

At next boot, it couldn't install them any more, because they didn't exist. Bwahahahahahahaa, so it had to ask where they were, and then it was mine! Die evil drivers! Burn, burn them all!
Erm. Right, I'll calm down now

Instead of using "Detonator Destroyer" (which BTW is incompatible with XP...AFAIK), try this...Use Add/Remove to remove the installed drivers (as you did previously) and reboot. When you get back to the Desktop, the "Found New Hardware" Wizard will have appeared.

At this point, open "Search" | In the "Files or Folders" box...enter nv*.* (make sure "Search Hidden Files and Folders" is selected in the "Search" preferences) | Delete the files found in the C:\Windows\System32, C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, C:\Windows, and C:\Windows\Help directories | With the "A/R Hardware Wizard" still open, point the Wizard to your new drivers | Install the new drivers and reboot.;)

I have been trying to find a way to do that since I installed 2000. Detenator Destroyer doesn't seem to work in 2000 (for me). The wizard always seems to screw up along the way and the ONLY way I have found is to use the "specify a place to search" function pointed to the new drivers. But that never got rid of the old ones. Thank you.
I will try these new ones and see if I can get away from the loop problem. I cannot use anything above 22.80 without getting random lockups in Windows opening multiple windows. Funny thing is I can play games all day with the 23.xx but in the desktop I get lockups. But the 22.80's work great.
