Hi there.
I have a 295gtx graphics card running on a cooler master real power pro 1000w PSU-and I want to get another 295 gtx to go quad sli. Must I change the power supply for a more powerful 1 or can my 1000w 1 handle quad sli?

1kw is way more then enough for 2 of them...

Thanx man. By the way how does quad sli work excactly? Does having 2 of em double the stress of the power supply?

not really stress the psu but pulls more current on the 12v rail. what do you mean how does it work?

Well I've never had 2 graphics cards linked 2gether before. So I don't really know if having two 295 gtx's is gonna make 1360watts as 1 graphics card u need 680 minimum watts to run it. How does it work excactly? The Psu says its quad sli compatible-but what the hell does that mean? Is it something to do with the 12v rail?

running 2 cards will definitely not double the power requirements.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but the wattage recommendations the GPU manufacturer provides are for the entire system not just the video card. As in your whole system might use up to 680w with the video card being maybe 150w of the total. More than likely your system uses less than 680 watts unless you're running a crazy amount of stuff (4 burners, 8 hdd, 10 fans, etc...)
Tachi1247 is correct, that minium is for a whole system. You'll be fine with you 1k.
