gta4 problems (drunk mode)

ok so i dont know whats going on with this, its really ****ing me off.

i had to reinstall everything last night and for one reason or another GTA4 is not working properly, updated to the latest available, cd's are in the drive launched fine but goes into drunk mode in a few minutes while i am driving in the game.

re installing doesent help, i am down to using this crack that i am really not comfterable using to even play the damn game.

everything is up to date, i didnt have this problem before i had to re install windows, still using vista 64bit SP2 dont know what the deal is

Drunk mode is a feature that was introduced to combat piracy.

IIRC there was a big stink about limited activations on that game, might be you reinstalled one too many times?

I have not heard anything about any updates causing any problems, but between that BS social club, the BS windows Live and hte actual game, I have no doubt that conflicts will occur.

yea i know that the drunk mode does that, this is a legit copy but i hate this BS that keeps legit people from playing games

There are a couple of fixes that I found online. I had the same problem, although I cannot remember what fix I used bc it was several months ago.

Buy a copy of the game? Me and about 10 mates have the game and it's never happened. I downloaded the pirate version and the drunk cam was on from the start.

If you have a legal version then it's probably more a problem with some missing config files for windows. Also running the game though steam will cause the problem.

Bzzt, wrong. I've been playing the game since last december through steam on XP, Vista, and Windows 7 all without any type of issue....even after modding.
