I forgot to mention that those are good temps right now, is it getting unstable?

I didn't even notice...2000 posts, wow!!

Those temps are OK. My 1.1Ghz Athlon-B does 46C under load, 40C stable.

Use this tweak to drop idle temps by 10 degrees C (on average):

Seems pretty ok. What kind of airflow you running in there. My friend has a Volcano 7 and he modded it also and its running 42 Celius overclocked full load.

im pretty sure its this way because i cant get it to be perfectly flat, even if i use a credit card... or maybe because i use 90% isopryol alchohol(sp)? anyways ima try it again in a week or 2, when i save up in deffinetly goin watercooling

42c is not a bad temp for that processor it is pretty good.

I am sure that if you said 52c many would pipe in,but 42c is a good max load temp.

will those tweaks hurt the chips performance at all?

hey guys.. Well I have a Volcano 7 too and it is running at MAx Power..I sliced the diode.... Anyways I'm running an Anthlon 1800+ O/C to 2000+ and my idle temp is 35C and Max Load temp is 40C. I Semi Lapped my HS... didn't do a really good job cuz my hands got tired lol I think your temps are fine if you didn't lapped your HS.. if you lapped it.. you should get slightly lower temps. :D

I get 26c idle to 34c full load on my 1700xp.I have 3 80mm intake fans and 2 80mm exhaust fans and a Vantec CCK-6035 cpu cooler.and the inside is nice and neat. :)

my idle temp is 28, and fullload at 35....with AR2, MCX462, stock HSF...
and i have 2 120mm fans blowing in at front, but i have to tidy up my cables.....once thats done with AR3 and a side blowhole mod, i think i can get the idle between 20-25C....hopefully....haha:D

if you turn the fan by the CPU around so it blows into the case you wll run 3C cooler

Avalanche

yea. but will the suggested tweaks for the load ish hurt chip performance

if youre talking about the link posted above to lower temps 10C by messing with WPCRDEIT, dont do it. All you're doing is making the cpu "shut itself down" when its idle. Whats the point of that? Idle temps mean nothing. Besides, you should never be idle anyway. (http://www.overclockers.ws)

Theres also the issue of the cpu cooling off that much, then heating up a lot more when you start to use it. That could shorten the life of the chip.

dude, i have the stock amd hsf on my xp 1600+ and i run at 37 idle and 41 full load. the heatsink isnt even lapped, and i only have one exast fan on the case, you should be able to get the volcano 7 running better than it is
