Hi, I'm new to this forum and overclocking in general. I have a 900mhz t-bird, abit kt7-RAID, 512 megs of sdram, geforce 2 mx (which i overclocked!).

i've recently been thinking about overclocking my processor, but i'm kind of nervous. i read a lot of guides all over the web. my comp's idle temp is around 27-29 C, and at max load (when playing medal of honor allied assault) it goes all the way up to 52 C. do you think i'd be able to raise my speed up to 1ghz without extra cooling devices?

but even before that... i tried to take out my athlon to unlock it but i was confused with the heatsink. i can't figure out how to take it off. i can unscrew the fan and what do i do next? pull the lever up? the heatsink is firmly in place. i'm kinda afraid to use any force to pull it off. any suggestions?

well, i hope u more experienced guys could give me some tips and ideas. thanks!

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS
.....and to the addiction:eek:

Don't worry to much about the mistake buddy:beer: Good luck in clocking that to 1GHz & beyond but do look into better cooling before you do that.
