I have a 56k modem and I connect at 26,400. I think it might be my modem which is also my sound card. It is a Rockwell Chameleon combo card. This is the info I found on the card. I dont know if this is useful for you to help me but I wanted to tell you everything I found. My comp is an HP. I found this on their web site. My friend has an old comp that doesnt work so I was going to try useing the modem he had in his. Would I have to get his soundcard too and take this one out? I also thought about useing both modems at the same time because I have 2 phone lines. Would this be hard to do? Keep in mind that I dont know much about computers. But I read about somebody doing it before. I was going to get DSL but its not available where I live. But if I lived a half a mile down the road I live on I could get it. Thanks for any help.
