Afternoon all. I was thinking and it may be a good idea to have a post in the sub-forums with a little explanation and request for everyone (not just specific individuals) to keep a lookout for front-page worthy articles. Anyway, if this meets IMOG standards, anyone interested feel free to copy & insert your forum's info.

It also may be a good idea to sticky them, at least for a little while while establishing the front page and its procedures. The reason I'm suggesting this instead of a global announcement is so the poster can be the content editor for the sub forum it's posted in.

Anyway, here's the proposed template. I'll happily edit as needed.

----------------------------

Hello insert sub-forum here readers and posters! OCF is starting a new ‘program’, if you will. The main page at Overclockers.com (http://overclockers.com) is reuniting with the forums and is gearing up to lean more heavily toward user-generated content.

We are going to always be on the lookout for posts that might interest the overclocking population as a whole and will correspond with those posters to gauge their interest in writing articles. If you want to write an article without making it a forum post first, that’s fine as well! Have a look at the Article Template here (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=619977) if you would like to check it out.

This is where the forum as a whole comes in. Anyone that sees a post you deem worthy of front page conversion, by all means PM your content editor and it will be taken into consideration.

There are also some people that have offered to help with (and can be relied upon for) fact checking. These folks are our Forum Experts and deserve recognition. For the insert sub-forum here section, these folks are

insert forum expert name(s) here
and here

This isn’t just limited to this forum either. This is happening all over! In case you see anything elsewhere, the content editors for all of the forums are:

Neuromancer - AMD CPUs and Mobos, General CPUs, Memory
Jamesman32 - AMD CPUs and Mobos, Air Cooling
Ben333 - Modding
sno.lcn - Intel CPUs
Earthdog - Intel CPUs and Mobos
hokiealumnus - Water Cooling, Microsoft Operating Systems
Stratus_ss - Alternative Operating Systems
Shellnut2 - Folding, SETI, Rosetta, Benching, Other Distributed Computing Projects
Splat - Cyber Deals
jhanby - Sound, HTPC
ghost_recon88 - ATI
DenonSix - General Hardware
zangler - nVidia
JoeTeck - Storage

If you have any questions about the article process, what you can do to help, writing articles or anything having to do with the front page, just post them here or PM me. I'll do my best to answer any inquiries and if I don't have the answer, I'll get it for you.

Thanks for your help in making this not only a great forum but for helping improve our homepage!

I don't think it's a bad idea.

Many other content editor positions will be filled out before the weekend is over, so let's wait until that is done before we pull the trigger.

I'll leave it at the discretion of the content editors if they want to post something similar in their subforums.

Sounds fine to me. No hurry, just trying to think of ideas that will help us get the job done more efficiently. :)

Everyone that has posted this - please edit your threads. The links were hand-typed with quotes in them. That does not work with the BBCode on this forum. Please edit the quotes out of the links. Fixed the OP so others don't have to worry about it. Sorry!

Good morning. I.M.O.G., if you get a chance (no hurry), please stick these in my sections. Things get can get buried and will actually stand less of a chance of being red than if they were a sticky (though the race is close ;) ). No need to waste your time looking though...

Windows OS (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=620718)
Water Cooling (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=620713)

Thanks!

Added JoeTeck to the template up top, update your threads at your convenience.

Just a suggestion - you may want to plan on updating your threads once a month or every couple weeks, comparing it to the template here. There might be frequent changes in the next month is all.

I haven't seen how others are showing which content editors are doing what, but in mine, it has a link to the frontpage organization chart, rather than a list.

I.M.O.G.
10-09-09, 08:11 PM
jhanby, that's probably the best way - I'll keep the orgchart current, and that's a lot quicker than everyone updating their own.

I posted in AMD CPU, Memory, General CPU and AMD Mobo forums. Might need to move my mobo thread to the general AMD forum or should I replicate it for the differnet revisions? (I posted it in AM3 until I get feedback)

On a side note. Can you subscribe to a entire subforum? I did not notice any of these threads at first LOL I saw Sno's post in the intel section and copied that after contacting him :)

Displays and Imaging Devices (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=621322) is up too, although I don't know who to plug as a forum expert.

Subbed the whole news team forum thanks :)

On an related note, if I cant get some more leads on articles I am going to have to be replaced soon. OCF needs people that can get results..

The org chart has been updated again, to reflect the latest changes - just people who are no longer involved. Hopefully we'll have additions coming soon.

Update your subforum threads when you have time!

Org chart has been updated again. Hokie, can you update this thread so others can do the same in their subforums?

If our subforum threads aren't current or it's too cumbersome to update them, may be best to just link back to the org chart rather than leave them containing old information.
