What is the difference besides of 60$?
In terms of overclocking is the interest.

UD3 has 6 power phases, UD3R 10. Also, UDR3 has it's MOSFET heat-sinks connected with a heat-pipe. All in all, UD3R should overclock better.

well really the UD3 is 4+2 and the UD3R is 8+2...

for quad cores 4phase will get you min oc's around 200-400mhz increase. 8 phase will be more in the midrange-highend oc's.

4 for CPU, 2 for chipset, yes....

in the traditional sense no it is not the same. the 2 other phases are for the IMC on the cpu, samething with LGA1366 setups. if you were to look at older LGA775 all 8 of the chokes would have been devoted to just the cpu, not split like on these newer cpus. all references that have been made in the past about PWM's is ones for only the cpu... prolly time we take new light in how the pwm's on these setups are done.
