Alright I wanted some opinions of what I should do. I currently have Q6600 and am upgrading to a different board. My options are a Asus Maximus Extreme which uses DDR3 or a Asus Maximus Formula SE that uses DDR2. Both have the liquid cooled north bridge, but my issue lays here. How much of a difference will that DDR3 have for me, cause I already have 6gbs of ram currently of DDR2. So I wouldnt have to spend any more money on new RAM.

I wouldn't bother with DDR3 if you are still running a Q6600 to be honest. Go for DDR3 when you make the move to i7 or newer.

DDR3 is a little faster on the 775LGA if you spend a little time with it. And its cheap now. You can always bring your DDR3 from you 775 to the I7/I5 when you make the change. I say go DDR3
