Okay built a new system last week
board is ASUS M4A78T-E supposed to be easy to overclock
have phenom II 955
I overclocked it to 3.4 by changing the multiplier to 17 that was easy, runs stable! Now Im using 6GB of DDR3 1333, didnt have the loot for 1600 right off the bat. So my question is how can I overclock the RAM to say 1600? the RAM is corsair XMS3 Please point me in the right direction. I know Heat and stability are the factors, but I dont understand all the BIOS settings. Thanks you guys and gals

DRAM Frequency options are limited to 800MHz, 1067MHz, 1333MHz, and 1600MHz w/ CPU Bus Frequency options of 200 - 600MHz. Since your RAM is rated at DDR3-1333 and 9-9-9-24 timings, your only option (if you can't raise tCL, tRCD, and / or tRP past 9) is to raise the FSB (CPU Bus Frequency) past the default of 200MHz, which in turn increases the DRAM frequency default of 1333MHz incrementally using a 3:10 FSB : DRAM ratio (compared to a 1:4 ratio using the 1600MHz DRAM frequency option). So for example increasing the FSB to 220MHz, using a 3:10 FSB : DRAM ratio, results in an effective frequency of DDR3-1466. You might also want to check out...

I explained that in my previous post. What specifically are you unclear about? If none of what I posted makes any sense to you, then I suggest you read through the PII guide I linked you to. Then if you have any questions related to what you read, post them in their specific forums.
