What causes this everytime it gets to the Dragothic one it crashes saying the texture was corrupt. I have tried 2 different downloads and both do the same thing. I have seen this same problem with someone else but can't find the post and don't remember the solution. ANyone got any ideas?

I had that too, exact same thing, same test. Was it the high res dragothic? Well, that only happened twice for me. It ussally works, the first time it happened I just ran chkdsk and it worked next time. It doesn't seem to be a disk error though, it is definatly a bug, or just a really strange coincidence. If I'll try to find out what triggered mine. Try using 16 bit setting, maybe that will work.

The easiest way to get rid of that "problem" is to change the texture setting from compressed to 32bit.

I had that same problem when I would OC too high, (or so it seemed). But you are saying that you can get it to stop doing that with a setting? Where can i find this setting that you speak of?

hope it helps you though!

That message most likely means your system is UNSTABLE! Probably either your vid card or cpu is clocked too high, or maybe even memory clock or timings. Try clocking things a bit lower or reduce memory timings. Just because everything else seems ok, your system may be running too close to the edge.

its an understandable point but i beg to differ there as ive had these happen with my rig b4 without an overclock. it could also be a driver issue /conflicting chipset like the sblive bug,it depend from mobo to mobo ,give the settings trick a go 1st and let us know dude!

I think "Rooski" has a good point AFA system instability caused by too high of an OC, memory timing (or possibly bad RAM), or insufficient texture memory.

If you had your CPU overclocked during the installation of 3DMark2001, some of the compressed textures might have been corrupted when they were generated by the installer. Try resetting your CPU to it's default clock speed while installing 3DMark2001 (if it wasn't already).

Your system may have also run out of texture memory. You may want to try increasing the "AGP Aperture Size" to 128MB in your BIOS (if the option is available). ;)

I have always had this error through overclocking too much, and generally it seems to be the memory causing it. Reducing the memory timings slightly or dropping the FSB would always resolve it.

Yes I was OC when I installed. Yes the AGP Aperature size is 128. I turned it down and reinstalled it and it runs now. SO all good. Thanks for the help.
Yadda Yadda.
