Like the title says, I am wondering if a a slotket can throw off temp monitoring. I'm using MBM5, and temps are really off. Well, at least I hope they are. I'm swinging inbetween 50°c and 78°c under load. I've got an Asus P3V4X, with a celly 900@900, on a MSI 6905 Master slotket. It's got a cheapie HSF on it right now, but it normally cools better than the regular stock Intel HSF. It'll have to do till I can get a a better cooler, but my temps still seem way off. I've already tried reseating the HSF, and reaplying ASII, no change. I know that the ASII will only become fully thermally conductive after a few hours/days, but temps still seem too high for that to cause the high readings.

Some slotket say they got a built in thermal sensors at least mine said that and it never worked correctly. You best bet would be to head down to Radio Shack and buy a cheap sensor to put on the side of the core.

Yeah, I got one but the thermistor is too big. It's got one of the ceramic thermistors. Works on the celly 400, but not on the cely 900.
