if i am able to obtain either of this speakers in a trade with my Silverstoone ST1000W PSU, which one should i pick? i would get 1 speaker set and $100 cash on the side. i don't know which one to pick. i know the Z-5300 is old and is replaced by the all so popular Z-5500. i'm not worried about space, as i have lots of space on the computer table. so that 5.1 won't be a problem. i was also thinking if it is possible to hook either of this to a TV and use it as a temporary surround sound system. i'm just trying to get a vote and see which one is the most popular.

I will help you out my friend. If you buy the M-AUDIO , those are desktop reference studio monitors, Made for desktop. StudioPro4 was one of them. If your a producer and want the cleaning sound then go with pro M-AUDIO AV40 . If you want loud powerful sound and strong bass then go for the logitech ones,,, gl

Basically if games and movies are your priority and you'd like bass that edges toward boomy and 'exciting' sound get Logitechs or some other moderate price 2.1/5.1. If you want balanced sound for music that also works well for the other things and don't mind missing surround (although speakers that image well can at least give the impression of L-C-R speakers) or missing 'thumping' if low quality bass get the AV40s. You can always add a sub to them later too.

What did you end up getting. Hope you went the Klipsch route. They are the pretty much untweaked good quality sound. You can even mix with them. The highs are not exaggerated. As volume goes up you lose the bass, but that's the quirks of a PC sound system, unless you get a Bose Acoustimass series , with the long woofer,, that thing shakes the house... you would connect it with spdif,,, hmmmm,,,
