I was watching a dvd that is wide screen while typing a paper. and noticed I cant size the window to get rid of the little black things on the top and bottem. not a real big deal but kind of a pain. I am just using the programe that came with my 8500 cd.
Thanx

"Power DVD" has an option for "pan and scan". It'll get rid of the lines on the top and bottom, but you don't see the whole view.
Check it out here. (http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/products/product_main.jsp?ProdId=28)
JMHO, but Pan and Scan is not the proper way to view a widescreen DVD. The filmmaker intended the film to be viewed as 1.85:1, 2.35:1 or whatever. Butchering it through P&S simply distorts the intent of the filmmaker...you wouldn't want to look at the Mona Lisa painting with the top 1/3 of the painting blacked out, would you?
Again, JMHO; I can respect your desire to watch a widescreen DVD in 4:3 but I don't agree with it.
Dang, there's the movie buff demon coming out...sorry if I offended.

exactaly That is what I am looking for. not something that distorts or cuts off part of the picture but just chops off the black bars on the top and bottem. to get more room on my screen.
