Or at least some sort of "Folding Right Of Passage" ,or something.
Two nights ago the main breaker in my house tripped open. I guess the central air, washer, dryer, a few lights and 12 computers was just too much for it.
I mean, it's not like I'm asking too much you know!
Anyway. This thread is to notify y'all that my production will be down a little from now on. I have reduced my farm from 8 down to 6 machines.
Oh well.

Work on maximizing ppd/watt. That means i7s running native Linux with GTX260 (216) s or GTX 295s (single pcb). RUn the wine wrapper and OC the cards in bios. Running a single rig with with the -bigadv flag and 2 x GTX 260s should net you somewhere near 36,000 ppd. 2 such rigs = your current production. When the economy improves and cash flow returns, that's what I'm going to do. Build 4 or five i7s.

When I reached the 12 machine Nirvana mark, I added two 20A/120V dedicated circuits to my computer room. It's doable, in my case it was easier as the room was under construction.

I have a dedicated 20A breaker for the computers.
Sometimes the other breakers go down, but never this one :)
there are actually only about 5-6 computers on it though, so I guess that explains it.

Thanks for the advice ChasR but that would take money that I ain't got.
My farm is now made up of 3 EVGA 780i (3 PCI 16X slots each) and 3 old Asus P5LD2 motherboards. CPU's are an asortment of Pentium 4's, single core Celeron D's and Pentium D's. A couple of the EVGA doards are running 1.8 Celerons. They run real good. Too bad EVGA doesn't make that doard anymore. All of this, with the exception of my main machine, run USB stick drives to decrease power consumption. All of my GPU's are EVGA. I have 3 8800 GT's and the rest are 8800 GTS 512's. One of the GTS's has the hard voltage mod and runs a 2000 shader. That thing turns out some kinda points man. It is my single best card.
I have 2 dedicated 20 amp circuits for all of this. The problem I had the other night was that the main breaker to the house opened up plunging us all into darkness.
So now I'm down to 10 machines running including my wife and daughters computers. If only I could get my kid to fold with that 9800 GTX+.
Oh well.
