im trying to use this board to get my e8400 to 4.5ghz, (currently stuck at 4ghz)

the person i brought the cpu form told me they got it to 4.3ghz , which is 470fsb.

i have droped the multi to 6, and the ram is set to 1:1

current settings: (for 4ghz)

CPU feature:
Thermal management control [enabled]
PPM(EIST) mode [dissabled]
Limit CPUID maxval [disabled]
C1E function [disabled]
Execute disable bit [enabled]
virtualization [enabled]
core multi processing [enabled]

Dram timings : all set to auto:

Voltage settings: (this is where im not sure what to set)
CPU VID special Add +125mv (gives 1.34 cpuz stable for 4ghz)
DRAM Voltage contol 2.12 (ram is speced for 1066 2.1v)
SB Core/CPU PPL voltage 1.55 (i have left this at stock becuase i heard it can fry cpu)
NB Core 1.2075V (dont know what i have to set this to for 500fsb)
CPU VTT 1.35
vcore droop control Disabledf
Clock gen voltage control 3.45v (dont no what this does, so left at stock)
CPU GTL 0/2 REF volt 0.58x (what fsb im ment to change the GTL volts at?)
CPU GTL 1/3 REF volt 0.58x
NB GTL REF volt 0.58x
FSB Vref auto

CPU clock ratio 9X
CPU N/2 ratio Disabled
cpu clock 445
Target CPU Clock 4005
dram speed 400/800
pcie clock 100

CPU spread spectrum Disabled
PCIE spread spectrum Disabled

what settings do i need to change to get this motherboard stable at higher fsb?

thanks Markp1989

What's the stepping and VID of your chip? You can find the VID by opening Real Temp--> "Settings" page--> Max Core VID, and the stepping in CPU-Z on the CPU tab--> Revision. Also post which RAM you have and how much, including the number of sticks, default SPD timings and DRAM voltage.

thanks for the reply.

i dont have a windows partition right now , but looking at old screen shots. the cpu is an E0 stepping, and the vid is 1.1500v (read from core temp)

the memory i have is Corsair DDR2 1066MHz/PC2-8500 XMS2 Memory CL5 (5-6-6-18) 2.1v i have 2 sticks, both 2gb

edit: just checked memtest, the memory was running a 5-5-5-18 im gona try opening the timings , and see what happens.

thanks for posting this, il look in the settings see whats going on.

Try 0.61 GTL refs for that Vtt. GTL refs aren't changed because of FSB per se but in relationship to Vtt.

Also you'll need a good bit more NB vCore for high FSB.

what ram are you using?

If you are overclocking it you may have reached it's limit.

im using ram rated for 1066

im prime testing at 500*7 Right now. if this lasts 4+ hours il up the multi, then when i have it at a speed i wana keep i will give it a long blend test.
