I just got Sandra 2002, and I gotta say that my memory score more than doubled!!! I got a 256 stick of OCZ PC2700 that used to bench around 860/940 or so and now its like 2130/2250!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What is the deal? Was the older 2001te Sandra that bad at scoring memory? Anyone else get a big improvement in the memory bench when using Sandra 2002?

Get it at their site or http://www.downloads.com/

The 2002 just has better support for the newer technology as 2001 is outdated.

I noticed the same increase with the memory scores with sandra 2002. The strange thing is sandra now reports almost no difference between cas2 and cas3 memory settings.

old sandra
322-347/383
222-390/458

new sandra
322-819/798
222-821/802

As stated earlier the old Sandra did not accurately measure DDR.

what they did in Sandra 2002 is something they call buffering benchmark. It puts your RAM into more real life testing than what the older versions did. If you want to see what your old score would be on the earlier Sandra's just go to options while you're testing RAM and scroll to the bottom and uncheck "Enable Buffering Benchmarks" and it'll go back to the old inaccurate testing.

Here's the difference between the two for me.

Here's the score using the old way. As you can see i'm pretty happy with my NEW memory score. The specs for my memory is in my sig (the athlon rig of course ;))and it performs quite well.

Was trying to state that Hitman just didn't know the pinpoint location where the option was.

Good research.
