They have been re purposed for content editors as Evil said. I believe I.M.O.G. has banned white star related discussions because of things getting out of hand but I can see you weren't around for the initial discussions. A handful of people didn't care, a few were angry and the rest were just upset. I applied for an editor position with no knowledge of getting special stars but shortly after I was accepted I was given whites.

Humm, didn't know it was a touchy subject. I posted something up in the Linux section, and just happened to notice orange stars, and was wondering what happened. I wonder why they didn't pick a color that wasn't in use. Maybe I can get some black ones ;)

I'm surprised you don't have blue ones fishy, I'd nominate you. Perhaps they will think of another perk for members with over 4,000 posts but at the moment that idea is being shot down. I think the stars were simply moved to the new editors was to not change the look of OCF too much by adding a new set of stars or a badge for editors, etc.

9,000+ and I haven't posted much lately. I kinda feel like an old family dog that no one wants anymore. I'm not surprised to hear that this topic was "banned" to talk about, as I tried to search and found nothing. I'll wait for the big LOCK to come, or someone to slap me around.

Yes im sorry to say fishy white stars have been re-purposed we were all for the lack of a better term peeved some like me more than others, but i guess i have come to terms with it. kinda :p

although we do get a 9th orange star... not that its noticeable :cry: :beer: :beer:
