Hey, I am not too experienced with checking and testing hardware functionality, but I was just trying to check the frequency of the ram recently installed on my laptop. its supposed to be 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM. I just want to make sure its correct. Thanks

You can download CPU-Z (http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php), it shows CPU and RAM frequency.

I actually just got this info from cpu-z

AM : 4096 MB DDR3 Dual Channel
RAM Speed : 532 MHz (1:2) @ 8-8-8-20
Slot 1 : 2048MB (10700)
Slot 1 Manufacturer : A-Data Technology
Slot 2 : 2048MB (10700)
Slot 2 Manufacturer : A-Data Technology

Does that mean that its not 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM or is it just not clocked at the right speed or what?

Your RAM is currently running at 1066MHz; 266MHz FSB on a 1:2 FSB : DRAM ratio. What's the make and model of notebook?

I bought it from iBuypower, its a custom built notebook, but it is the FX-925Z on their website

The FSB would need to be increased past the default of 266MHz to 333MHz (3.16GHz clock speed), while running a 1:2 FSB : DRAM ratio; resulting in a DRAM frequency of DDR3-1333MHz.
