We will be re-purposing the Front Page Discussions (http://www.ocforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=103) section. In order generate traffic across our platforms -- from overclockers.com to OCF and from OCF to overclockers.com -- we will be posting a link in Front Page Discussions to every article/review posted on overclockers.com. Sno.lcn will post a discussion thread using the below template. Editors (IMOG and myself for now) will move the thread from Front Page Discussions to the corresponding forum section based on the article topic, ie. Intel CPU Review goes in Intel CPU's. A permanent redirect will be left in Front Page Discussions, but the discussion thread will live in the corresponding forum section. This allows users interested in the article to find it without discovering on overclockers.com.

This task is currently handled by Sno.lcn:
1. Post thread in Front Page Discussions (http://www.ocforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=103)

Thread Title: "[O/C]Title of Article" (ie. "[O/C] AMD Phenom Review")

Thread Content: Use the template in the post below (to see the code itself, just hit QUOTE).

Note: Your thread needs to be approved by a moderator before it shows up, so do not be alarmed if after you post, you don't see it in the section right away.

2. PM/Email/AIM IMOG or mdcomp providing the title of the article.

Please follow this template to ensure consistency among the entire project. When posted, please contact me or IMOG to remind us to move the thread.

Here is a live example: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=621280 and go to Front Page Discussions (http://www.ocforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=103) to see the re-direct.

Thanks.

Yah each article will be "posted" 3 times. sort of

Posted on the front page. (1)

Front page discussion forum, will have a "thread" (2) that is really a redirect to the forum that most closely relates to the front page article. (3)

Sounds like a good idea to me!

Im good with this as well.

My only concern would be splitting the thread and therefore valuable information that can come out of it.

It's not splitting. It just leaves a link to the thread in Front Page Discussions. The actual thread only lives in one place, so all the information is easy to find. Unless you have another suggestion. It's not ideal, but it should work until we integrate the front page and forums better.

Well if there are not two threads on it, then no worries on thinning out the content! :)

btw hitting quote on your post for the template yeilds nothing, since you have everything in a quote

Does that work a little better?
;)

Thanks for the heads up Brett. I never would have known otherwise, haha, whoops.

Updated this one, sno.lcn has taken over this task for every article and he's been doing a great job with it every morning.

No longer relevant, threads are posted automatically, lead editors format summary manually.
