i can get a 9800 for very cheap, under 10 pounds, but it has a faulty, it has 'lines accross the screen'
i was thinking of adding it to my gtx 260 as a physx processor
even though the 9800 has a currupt output will it still work as a physx processor?
thanks:)

I think it could be fixed in an oven :D
I would buy it just to try that out...lol

yup i won the bit for 8 pounds :) after some research it looks like it should work
wonder if a card with a curupt output could run as a second card in sli, that would make a very cheap sli setup :)
^ if anyone can confirm a card with a currupt output can be used in sli i might grab a second gtx 260 for 30 poundS :)

Depends on where the defect is. I'm not sure how defective memory which is often the cause of corrupt output would affect physics. That GPU does have the video output integrated in to the die so there's no chance of just a defective video output chip although that section of the GPU might be the defective bit. I wonder what defective physics might be like though...just crashes? Or maybe some funny stuff lol like things going the wrong way :D
For what you paid I guess it's worth a shot!

You should see how the gpu is then see if the oven will fix her up :)
