I'd be inclined to keep your current card, especially if it does what you want.

Xfi Xtreme Audio is INFERIOR to all Audigy 2 cards.
It is a rebranded Audigy SE and sounds horrible. Beyond horrible actually.

Having used an A2 and an Xtreme audio on my current rig, just for schits, I can say this without doubt.

your current A2 is superior. However, if you went to an Xfi, especially the EARLY xtreme gamer or xtreme music (I mean the large xtreme gamer. There's a half size one that sucks) you'd be happier.

REMEMBER:

Xfi Xtreme audio
Xtreme gamer
Fatal1ty
Auzen Prelude

all use true X-fi chip.

Xfi Xtreme audio does NOT use an X-fi chip.

Why do they call it an Xfi?

Why does intel call neutered wolfdales Pentiums?

I don't know.

I disagree and find a huge difference between the Xfi and Audigy 2 in games.

Depends what he's listening to it through (i.e. really bad speakers = no difference).

for that price range you shouldn't be looking at anything but this.
