Hey guys
I wasn't out long, but having been completely down for the last four days I'm happy to announce that I'm back. I was away from the dorm for the long weekend, and someone came in and flipped our circuit breaker. "Luckily", I was less than 18 hours into the bigWU that expired in my absence. At least I wasn't 2 days into it.
Anyway, I can pump out a solid 32k ppd with this, my only rig, and I'm hungry for more. Considering I don't really have the means to purchase another system, I'm basically looking at beefing up my GPU production. The only problem is, you could cook on my GTX 260. How do you guys keep your cards cool? With ambient peaking around 25C, my card reaches a scorching 79C maximum, running at 77-78 almost 24/7. Could my fan be at less than 100%?
Ok, so I actually decided to do my own research and used nvclock to discover my PWM duty cycle was at ~41%. Now running at 100. Card is cool as a cucumber (54C and falling). Looking forward to enabling Coolbits sometime soon and OCing this a little. One question though: should I run the fan lower than 100% even if I can deal with the noise? I actually couldn't hear a change in noise levels because I run my Ultra Kaze's push/pull at full blast. And a fan in my window pumping cool air into the room. So yeah its a bit loud in hear, but I'm used to it. My concern is for wrecking the fan though. But it shouldn't be an issue, right?
So basically I guess I'm just here to say I'm back, and it feels better than ever.
FOLD ON!
