My friend and I also have a dual board, but we only have one chip. I imagine you would have to use 2 clients and specify which processor to use.

Run 2 clients with the -local switch on each. Also be sure to run each also with the -config switch the first time, as there will be 2 seperate client.cfg files.

Found this on the F@H web page:

"Does Folding@home run on dual processor machines?

Yes, with the console (text-only, no-nonsense) version. The best way to do this now is to install F@H twice in two (or four, however many processors you have) DIFFERENT directories, and run them with the flag "-local". If two copies of F@H run in the same directory, they will interfere with each other, and much badness will occur. You should actually be able to run one graphical F@H and the rest text-only F@H copies, as long as the graphical one is in the default location and the others are in custom locations."

Fold on,
Dr.

Just change the target line to add -config run them each at a time to set them up and then change the target line to -local I don't know about adding multiple switches you may want to try it to see if you can get it to run local with the config. Another to remember is that when you switch it to -local there may be files floating around, delete any stragglers and get a new unit for each process. If you need anymore helps let me know I will do my best to help out.

so in the task manager it shows cpu usage at 100% and each core65 at 50% and the cpu usage graphs are both at 100%.

i just did this for both consoles

"C:\Program Files\fah1\FAH2Console-v217.exe" -local

is that right?

Perfect! Fah sometimes shift with %'s of CPU usage which is a bit off but to be expected. Glad everything is working for you!

I'm going to start folding tonight. my cpu temps are really high for default speeds which i think is due to the IHS's on them. if the system seems stable i'll go with it. i dont think there will be any overclocking because i'm not as crazy as ol'man cuting off the ihs's.

thanks for the help j
