Hi all, I know that they are already some thread about this but. I have some question :)
First, Should i wait for the g300 series to come out before buying my gtx 275,The price will go down and i might be able to get one for 180-230dollars (canadian)
And i am going to buy a full cover waterblock for it. i know they are coolance that are/is doing one but i have heard bad thing about coolance product and i dont want to test it out.
they are some other gtx 275 full cover waterblock but they all look bad...
When, cool gtx 275 waterblock will come out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and should i wait before nvidia g300 series come out before buying it. ( i have plenty of time ) maybe 2-3months

Second question. its about Tubes and compression barbs. If I use 1/2'' ID 3/4''OD tube and 1/2'' ID 3/4'' OD compression barbs does it will fit? im not SURE thanks you for answering. |sry for my bad english im french CH|

Hmm, I'd wait a few months if you can. Koolance makes decent GPU full cover blocks. One area where they got it right. Look at EK, Swiftech, Danger Den and umm who else folks for full cover blocks?

If your cooling one card look at just watercooling the GPU chip and getting air heatsinks for the PWMs/vrams/etc. Cheaper by $50 or so. But only if you got a great air cooled case.

Will it fit? We see few problems with big fat compression fittings on GPUs. It happens though. Careful research will solve that. If 'it don't fit', then you buy Bitspower rotary 45's to get clearance.

I don't see the need for compression fittings myself. Save money, use barbs. They DO NOT LEAK.

Heatkiller makes full coverage blocks too, but IMO Danger Den is the best for GPU blocks and the worst for CPU blocks. They constantly come up with new GPU blocks and never improve their CPU blocks. They just modify the TDX for the CPU of the day.

Looks like you're playing the waiting game... heh, aren't we all. I don't know what card you're currently running, so it's hard to advise about waiting for the 3xx series. As for me, since I'm building my rig now, I didn't have the luxury or waiting around for nVid's next run. I went ahead and got two 275s off the egg... one for $190 and the other for $230. Figure I'll use them as place holders until the new ATI/nVid lines get situated.

As for slapping full blocks on 'em, I have to agree with you... though all supposedly perform well, I'm not that impressed with the looks of current choices out there. I guess I've been ogling those 295 blocks for too long. Anyways, it was a toss up between EK and KL for me... ended up going with the EKs because of the clear fronts. Out of curiosity, what bad stuff have you heard about KL?

I went with barbs and rotarys (45s)... don't like compression fittings myself.

A couple'a parting thoughts... it prolly won't be an issue, but make sure you get the right block for your 275... here's a linky to the reference designs vv

Also, EVGA sells a full cover back plate for their 275s off their main site (20 bucks), great for stealth'n the PCB if you care about that... linky vv

Koolance bad? Aluminum rads, steel fittings, restrictive fittings etc. Prebuilt cooling rigs with weak pumps and way overpriced.

But they are past a lot of that now. Their 350 CPU block and GPU blocks are pretty good. Dean (see him a lot on XS) is involved heavily with input from the members there.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I thought the OP had heard bad stuff about KL's current blocks... thought he might be referring to the stand-off issues with them. But now that I think about it, I may be remembering that wrong... maybe it was the EK 295 blocks that had that problem?

Hmm, thanks that exactly helped the thread. We know more about cooling a GTX275 or wait for the newer G300 series now.

Their stuff is far from decent, well soldered pins, things that break, plating with the screws on... a pretty entertaining thread :bday:

After the fiasco of RRR at XS where he was panning another company and it was proven he was paid by another, I have little trust in anything RRR says or sponsors on his forums. BTW he was banned from XS for these isues. It was over a year ago methinks. I have been to his site a few times since then.

BTW, your link don't work. Log in as a guest and then post the link so non-RRR members can see it?

I'll stay out of the XS and RRR politics, but to me XS is also promoting a bunch of shens like that primochill T3 piece of crap or promoting koolance.

Well i let those pictures speak by themselves. I would never recommend anything from koolance. We should know they are giving goodies and paying advertising fees to xs owners and some members.

This particular KL block you see soldered pins, screws that strip, funky plating and weird cracking... oh well a bunch of things that you will never find in another vendor.

Thats an awesome sink. Just look at the workmanship. /sarc

It almost looks like they made those pins out of lead.

Agrred on those pics. They are better, but no where near where they should be. Still, many have used GPU and CPU blocks lately from them. I did read the post on XS about this one, and wow, it's pretty crappy. Looks lke they are using cheap methods again due to they can't compete with the big boys?

I stand corrected, I'm more to the bad side of the fence now with Koolance when I was on the 55% good side..

Well the XS thread you see a bunch of people swearing that this was machined but to my humble opinion these pins are not machined, the owner that took the pics said that the block was bone dry and what mattered most is that only the KL fanboys came forward. If this was indeed machined Dean would of say something.

One thing is that i don't let politics blind my opinion and i would never suggest something to someone in this or any other forum anything but my hard earned money would buy.

is that a new or old block from koolance?

that is a 4870 block fairly recent although all their current vga or chipset blocks present those "features"
