I tried posting this in the cases/power supplies forum, but didn't get much response. I'm building an all lexan case, but don't know how thick the lexan should be. The case will be about 18"x36"30", and will hold a resivoir, radiator, ps for pelts, as well as PC components. Ay help would be appreciated. Thanks
go 1/2inch on sides and 1/4" in front and back.... I think that should be plenty top and bottom could prolly be 1/4" as well
I would think that 1/4" all the way around would be plenty. You must consider the weight that each piece of plexi will carry, and how it effects the piece it's attached to.
For example, don't make the whole side open, you should have at least 1/2" wide 1/4 " plexi to make corners around the opening side...this adds strength, and can carry much more weight.
You can make your case just like the metal ones..use a one piece 'bridge' that contains the drive holders and extends back to hold the power supply. This distributes the weight of these components onto all 4 corners.
Remember, you can build a car bridge out of cardboard as long as you consider the forces placed on each piece. Remember those ford commercials?
Another tip, when drilling larger holes through it, use a smaller drill first, because large bits like to wander sideways in the plexiglass without a smaller pilot hole.
The red lines in the drawing show what I'm talking about.
Have a great time, and be sure to post back pics we can all drewl over when you got it done.

Thanks for the advice. I will post pics when i'm done, but it's probably gonna be a while before I can actually build it.

It'd be awesome to get a video of you playing quake while shooting the hell out of your comp :)
