Hi Guys,

This thread has two purposes :

1. To celebrate that the first ever frontpage article from the Sound section has just been posted !

It is entitled "Audiophiles : A Brief Introduction and can be found here ! (http://www.overclockers.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4547:audiophiles-a-brief-introduction&catid=54:howto&Itemid=4260)

2. Please post your feedback, on both the article and on where you think the sound section should be going in regards to front page articles.

Personally I shall be looking out for speaker guys to write articles, as I am more a headphone guy.

And remeber, if you want to write an article, just PM me ! (http://www.ocforums.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=75822)

John

Yeh PS3 as in Playstation 3

:) AD700s rock.

I've just got into it really, but mainly Miles Davis (Kind of Blue, Birth of Cool), John Coltrane (Giant Steps) and Bill Evans.

nice read -certainly taught me something about headphones :)

As for speakers its such an in depth area to write about. Off the top of my head:

speaker placement/Calibration/speaker suitability to room
cables
amp/reciever etc....
speaker brands/styles
subs - seperate section as you can choose a different brand of subs to the rest of your system and this is a huge area
how your price bracket affects all of the above
DIY speakers
and also describing the different requirements for Games/Music/films etc..
finally since this is primarily a PC forum how all this ties into your PC :) - i.e. sound cards - software (i.e. foobar for Music) advantages/disadvantages

I feel it is all relevant because for example if you spend multiple thousands on speakers but dont set them up correctly and under power them with a bad amp then it is pointless. So you can't just compare/talk about the speakers themselves

Cool. I'm always exploring different types of jazz.
I had been listening to Kenny G, Marion Meadows, Chick Corea and Acoustic Alchemy.
