View Full Version : TV-Tuner/Video Capture cards
I'm thinking about buying a tv-tuner/video capture card. There's a company called Avermedia that sells one called the Avertv Studio. Anyone know anything about the card or the company? Looks like a pretty decent card. Here's a link:

I am not familiar with that card but I have heard good things about the ATI TV Wonder and ATI TV Wonder VE cards, as well as the Pinnacle TV /Capture cards and the Happauge Win TV Tuner/capture cards.
I bought myself the Happaugge Win TV Tuner/capture card and it only cost me $55 with tax (Canadian at a boxing day sale) you can find it for $45 US which is still a good deal. I have not had the time to fool around with it at all yet, but my friend has it and he says it does all he needs.

I agree with Cisco Kid, I also don't know anything about Avertv but,
the Hauppauge WinTV's are quite good. I own a Happaugge WinTV Theater, which supports 'DOLBY PRO-LOGIC' and even comes with a remote for around $120 (if you want to spend that much).

The Tv-Wonder works fine under both Win2k and Winxp Pro.
