AMD has the Throughbred on the right and the Barton on the right. Notice how the Barton is almost 50% smaller than the Throughbred waffer. Thats becuase Barton uses SOCKET 563

Guess, AMD wants to be smaller than Intel's Socket478! Note that this is still the EV6 bus so EV7 will look a little different again since thats what is used for the Hammer series.

That Barton looks to be at least an XP2800+

I think that on the right its the Athlon chip cause its purple, & purple means ceramic, on the right its proly a Athlon 4 or maybe something else for notebooks... Though I could be wrong

So T-bred will be the last Socket A proc?? doh! I thought AMD said they were keeping socket A "through this year"? What gives?

maybe they will .... who knows if the hammer release will be delayed again. and they will keep building and improving athlon and duron to 2004, athlon till 2006 maybe....

K, never mind. I just read on the [H] that this 563 a mobile socket for the T-bred. Gives us a good look at the core though.
