View Full Version : Having CD burning trouble
I am trying to burn a cd for my girlfriends mom and I seem to be getting into all kindds of trouble doing so. About halfway through the burn I get this error message poping up.
T0100: I/O error (06/C5/00) - Write error - buffer underrun occurred
T0100: I/O error (06/C5/00) - Write error - buffer underrun occurred
T7127: TrackWriter error - Flush failed
T7118: TrackWriter error - Command retry failed
My buring software is Easy cd creator v 3.5
My cd burner is a LG Cd-rewriteable recorder CED-8080B
with 8x burn max speed
I have 256 megs of ram on my comp so I dont under stand why the buffer under write error is occuring and im running a 1 ghz processor so it should be fast enought to do the burn.
If you need any more info please ask and if you know how to fux this please do tell :D
Thanks

Have you tried to burn at a slower speed?
Yes I did try to burn at s slower speed. I tried it at 4x and still did the same thing. :( I even installed Nero and got a different error. :(
Here is a pic of the error Nero gave me. :(

Are you running Overclocked? If so try it not overclocked.
What lenght CD are you trying to burn, and is the media capable of it?
Sorry for the simple questions, just eliminating possible problems. :D
Ya I was running overclocked and I thought the same thing so went back to my stock 900mhz speed. The only thing I didnt put back stock was the FSB, i left it at 112mhz.
The file file im trying to burn is 582megs and I have 700 meg cd to burn it on to. :D
What do you mean by is the media capable of it? I would tell you what it is but I dont think we are allowed to say that stuff here.
Also, After my first attempt with nero and getting that error it gave me I got this happening. Look at this pic, my comp went to hell after trying to burn this stupid CD. :(

Burn at the slowest setting and see what happens. Buffer under runs are from the computer not being able to supply the CDR data fast enough.
Thanks guys I got it to burn ok. :D I had to burn it at 1x speed, took awhile to burn but burned ok. :D I should have know that a slower speed was required for this because I was burning a copy from the copy my bud burned me and he did mine 3 yrs ago and the cd burners 3 yrs ago were way slower than the ones we have now. :D All donr and burned great. :D Thanks again :)
For future reference, try not to burn from a device that's on the same ribbon cable as the burner. (commonly causes buffer problems).
Say you were copying a cd. Both the cd and the cdrw are on the same ribbon cable. The data has to move from the cd, down the ribbon to cache into memory, then back up the same cable to the cdrw. This often causes the system to drop the ball.
With the cd and cdrw on seperate ribbon cables, the system can send data straight from one ribbon to the other. This way it's all up to the buffer on the cdrw, which runs pretty fast.
A way around this is to select "cache to file" in the options of the burning progaram. Then it will copy the cd to the harddrive first, then start burning. This only works good if the cdrw and the harddrive are on different ribbon cables.
Hope this helps to get you off of 1X burning. Happy day to ya.

Aghh! Itīs the FSB that matters, not the actual O/C itself. Try set it at 100 Mhz.

That i know of, it's not wise to burn a cd from a drive that's on the same data cable. I think someone explained it, and yes, when a buffer underrun error occurs, that means that data was not supplied fast enough to the cdrwiter. Also, the speed of the reading cd drive is a factor. Try and see if u can create an image file first, then burn the image file, that should let you burn at 8x. Another [possible] solution, would be to increase the buffer size alot. I don't use that software, so i don't know if u can at all, but that's just in my experience.

Don't use Easy Cd Creator - it always has these problems, I would really recommend you Nero, and don't play around on the computer while you're burning or you'll bound to have these problems and you'll create lots of coasters
