View Full Version : Best tweaked nvidia drivers for 7900 GS?

I've got a brand new 7900 GS, I'm still under warranty and my old one died so Dell sent me a new one. I'm probably going to buy a recent GFX card in the somewhat near future so for now I want to push this want to the max (as long as it keeps running for at least 6 months I'm good).

What are the best tweaked drivers out there for my card?

I get around 23-25 FPS in COD5 right now with the official nvidia drivers and I'm looking to hopefully get that in the 35 or even 40 range. (this is on 1024x768 res)

What system is this running in?
At 1024x768 a strong cpu will help boost fps, as the resolution is fairly small.

Yeah, you are more CPU bound so to speak at that low resolution... I wouldnt worry about tweaked drivers. Just get Rivatuner and the latest Nvidia drivers and start overclocking the core and memory.

How much should I OC it? I have Riva Tuner.

By core and memory do you mean core and memory of the GFX card or RAM and CPU?

We are talking about your Videocard here, so the video card is what I meant by core and memory. :)

How much should you overclock it? Until it artifacts, then back it down. YOu want to raise the core by itself while having Furmark stress test running in teh back round. When you see artifacts, then back down the core. Do the same for the memory.

I suggest you use eVGA Precision to overclock as it's the same as RivaTuner but is more simpler etc. :)

If you want tweaked drivers then your gonna have to go Red ... ATI red . They have modded drivers NGO or omega,

Not nvidia.

Just get the latest WHQL from their site, or try the new beta 195.39 ,,, very stable and solid... gl
